la sardina // at the beach

It's time for more La Sardina photos! These ones are from the beach. If you haven't gathered it already - my favorite place to shoot film is the beach. It's a great place to play around with double exposures aaaaand I really just love the beach!
These were shot with lomography's color negative 100 ISO film and developed at Discount Drug Mart.

what I wore - bugs all over

the details
shirt - Zara (bought from ebay)
skirt - thrifted
belt - thrifted
bug ring - c/o Romwe
tooth ring - handmade
tights - Modcloth
shoes - Emma c/o B.A.I.T

So so so so in love with this shirt!! I stumbled upon this shirt tumblr and had to hunt it down. After a long search I found that it came from Zara, but it was no where to be found on their website. So I turned to my good, old, friend eBay! I was bidding on one but paying more than I really wanted (and was currently outbid) when eBay showed me some suggestions based on other things I had recently viewed. Just my luck - one of the things they recommended was the same shirt from another seller, buy it now and at a way cheaper price. YES! It was destiny, clearly.

The print on the shirt is amazing but this thing is seriously poorly designed. Who in the world goes "you know what we need to make? a shirt that buttons up the back!" NO, not a great idea. It's so awkward to button. Also, the arm holes are a little tight. They did seem to stretch out through out the day though. All in all, I'm still really stoked about the shirt - that's how much I love the print. I'd even buy a second one if there was a similar print or another colorway (I actually think there is too!)

Another thing! These tights are so amazing. I saw them in Modcloth's new arrivals and immediately bought them. Tights with the seam up the back are the cutest and having them striped is basically breaking the cuteness barrier. Best spur of the moment purchase ever! I hope they never ever rip.

Hope you're having a fabulous day!

weekly nail

Supplies used;
L'Oreal Safari Chic
Zoya Dree
Seche Vite as a top coat.
Nail stickers (blogged about here // bought from here)

Still lovin' those nail stickers, clearly seeing as I haven't done any nail designs without since discovering them. I think this one might be my favorite, the little zig zags. It was definitely something I could do with tape but it's so much faster and easier with these.

The L'Oreal color was used as a base and then I applied the sticker and painted the Zoya color. As you might be able to tell it changed colors! It happens sometimes when painting colors on top of other colors but I really have the most problems with it happening when I'm using a shade of green. Sometimes it's really annoying but in this case I really ended up liking it.

Hope you're having an awesome weekend!

Happy Birthday, Elycia!

Today is my dear friend Elycia's birthday! If I had my passport I would have plotted to go up to Canada and surprise her but since Kevin and I are forever putting off getting our passports (we'll get them soon, I swear!) I guess a blog post will have to do!
Elycia and I met in person for the first time around a year ago. It's been an awesome year and it's been an absolutely, amazing experience to make such fast friends with someone. We have so much in common! I feel very lucky to have met her, that definitely has to be one of the best things that's come out of blogging for me.
As someone who doesn't really have that many real life (human) friends I especially cherish our time together. We can have fun doing just about anything together. Camping, thrifting, painting our nails, taking outfit pictures, going out to eat, playing video games, making vlogs, dancing like fools, watching questionable videos on the internet, making fun of each other's accents, the list just goes on and on. Elycia is a blast to hang with!
(I like how Ivan is the only person properly dressed for the ridiculously cold weather we were having that day)
Every time we post photos together and someone comments about what cute best friends we make I secretly get little butterflies in my stomach because we haven't officially claimed the title "best friends" but I hope that someday we will because I certainly consider her my best friend (and would really really really love to wear tacky best friend jewelry with her.)
After many failed friendships I was starting to feel a little jaded in the friend department and tried not to get too attached to anyone. But in this last year I feel like (uh, I'm fanning my eyes right now trying to not mess up my make-up while typing!) I've finally found a forever friend who I can rely on. Elycia has been there when I needed to rant, when I needed help with projects and has been there just to help make my day a little brighter. I hope I can do the same for her.
I hope you have an absolutely fabulous birthday, Elycia. I hope Ivan and the kitties spoil you rotten and give you everything you could ever ask for. And I sincerely hope I didn't weird you out too much writing this blog post that basically turned into a crazy, love letter-esqe creepfest. But hey girl, you is my friend and I can't wait to see you next weekend! We are going to have so much fun shaking our butts and making vlogs (uh, not at the same time, or at least not that anyone else will see!)

You guys should all go wish Elycia a very Happy Birthday on her blog!

spiders, snakes and bees - oh my!

Each year I try to take oodles of pictures of nature and all the little things that spring and summer bring. One reason being - I really like to (clearly!) and the second - looking through these pictures in the dead of winter is THE best anti-depressant.
Have a fabulous Saturday!

ps. Did you spot the spider in two of these photos?
